Kyle,
I think I just had a breakthrough. I was able to trace Dennis Konkoski in the 1870, 1880 census records. Then in 1900, he was housed at the Ross County Infirmary as an inmate. He died there in 1913. The cause of death is chronic Morphinism. I think Hellen, his wife remarried or put the two girls up for adoption. This would explain why Lee Grinder was put on Minnie’s death certificate as the father. Take a look at the census records and see what you think. Also, could the name Ellen Campbell actually be Hellen Campbell ??? I believe that on the 1910 census it lists the number of marriages. If Dennis was an “addict” the family might have “thrown him away” and gave no record of marriage or children.

Lisa, did you say it was Barbara Huston that said she remembers Minnie speaking Polish?
Kyle,
Barbara says that Alice was not happy that Minnie came to stay with them. She is the one that mentioned the last name Konkoski.
